I've built three 813 amps, I have quite a few of the tubes laying around right now. I first tried the new chinese ones, UGH! Out of four I bought three went bad within 3 weeks, not exactly good reliability! (and I was NOT running them anywhere near close to ratings) After that it was strictly NOS, mostly from ebay.

My current amp is running metal plate RCAs (not the more common graphite oens), I had heard good things about these and wanted to try some but the prices were rediculous. I found someone selling a pair on ebay that didn't know what they had, I could tell from the picture what it was. Appearantly nobody else bothered looking at the picture so I got them for a song. They do actually sound better than the graphite ones (I have another pair of graphite RCAs), but not by a huge amount.
