You're correct. I overlooked the low DCR to ground via the cartridge. Since the circuit supposedly functions, do you have an idea about how the grid is kept negative? Is it acceptable at these mV. levels for the grid to swing positive? Thinking in terms of A2 operation for a 'X7 section is a bit strange.
