I haven't looked at (it would probably scare me :=) the price of vintage 211's on ebay--- I'll bet they are no where near cheap.

I have some of the chinese made 211's--- and though no direct experience with them I know people who have run these chinese versions very, very hard and have not had any failures.

Magicparts in the us is one source for the 211's and last i looked (been a while) they were less than $25 each.

My next guess would be if you ran a 211 or 845 at the stereo sound datasets--- that they would last one heck of a long time.
