The reason that transformers and chokes are
not used in commercial products is that
caps and resistors are much cheaper.
Transformers are said to dampen dynamics.
I have not found that to be so though.
Maybe they do compared to choke loading
but not compared to resistive loading.
Cheap trannies do bring alot of baggage -
poor bass response and resonance spikes
being the major offenses.
