if the 845 low volts, low power SE got your idea machine primed... the following data set might actually ignite your thinkin' apparatus :=)
Again--- from the masters at Stereo Sound mag in Japan. It was in an article giving their recommended operating points for a wide range of classic valves.
plate volts 480
dc plate current 40 ma
grid volts -20
load resistance 10,000 ohms
r sub p 3500 ohms
mu of 12
expected power output 2.6 watts
I've not heard an amp with these operating points yet. My friend Bruce Nielson in NJ had built the low power 845 and it did sound really great.
what I like about the 211 is the minus 20 volts on the grid--- easy to drive. the 40 mils of plate current make it easy to design iron for--- especially if your going parafeed--- get a 125 henry plate choke for a good load on the anode of the tube--- and the mu of 12--- nice.
