Great thinking and a very nice post.

1) Yes, we don't want to run 2A3s so hard.

2) We don't want to drop so many volts across a field or inductor, pre the finals, do we?

Slownlo, this takes TWO separate supplies, and the front end tube choices and topology may NOT be worth the time, effort, and expense to optimize.

If you "must" build a P-P amp to satisfy your curiosity, I have a two stage DC amp schematic I've done which you can execute, but golly, finish and break-in your SE amp first. You are not quite done yet !!
