Hi Twystd,

Nice post. My references this weekend about AC heating was in relationship to using a 2.5 VAC filament. Its one of the reasons why 2A3s are so cool, you CAN successfully use AC heating on them!!

May I offer a possibility? You might well have reached a different conclusion if you were using 2.5 VAC DHTs.

L's for DCed Ef supplies need not be expensive, the Panasonic AC Line Filters are common mode inductors, (their V-850 series), which sell for under ten dollars each and are small and handy. Nice for filtering fixed bias supplies also !
