Thanks to both you and Tim for your help. Now I see why cct B seems more commonly used eg in the Yaqin buffer unit.

I'll have a go at configuring the B cct and see what it looks like.

I'm aware of the use of + and - PSUs to enable the CF cct to work well with the input set at earth, and so remove the 1st cap. My gut feel is that this dual PSU cct would be better, provided both parts of the PSU are very well done, but that costs a lot of money. For my first attempt I intend to use the single PSU cct with the input cap .... I have enough bits in my spares box to knock up one decent PSU with CLC 1st stage then with an RC stage for each channel.

I'm only doing some planning now; can't start any building till the finger is healed.
