I know the FT3 caps are nice but you can remove the cases and wrap the caps in teflons plumbers tape.
Again I want to stress, listen to this for a while before you make a final decision..I also liked the teflons at first for their dynamics and speed but the more I listened,I was no longer being enveloped in the music like I was with k40s and vitamin Q caps.
I'm always willing to sacrifice a little bit of detail for smoothness and realism because thats what makes a real true to life audio system. If you look at past posts of mine, you will see I also fell in love with the teflons and then after further listening,I was having the sound pushed at me rather the music pulling me in with it.
Of course it also depends on your speakers..If you have horns or ESLs or any planar you will notice this more but a basic speaker may be helped by that.Try mixing the k40 with the FT3.Definitely tho take the case off the ft3s.
