The 600V insulation rating is especially designed for applications where the wire is either routed close to a grounded conductor, or other conductors at different voltage levels. When used in a proper manner, the wire could be used to 1000V no problem.
I would keep sufficient spacing such that the wire does not come into contact with any other conductors, insulated or not. Support no doubt will be required over and above what you would normally provide. Fortunately, the AMOUNT of wiring this requires is small. Might just feed the transformer from the PS.
AC/DC drives do this all the time with MTW wire. They are UL approved also as an assembled unit, even though the DC bus and braking circuits run at 800VDC or more.
