I can see what you are saying, however I was thinking about single ended circuits, not push-pull. I have been able to get some very nice results with single ended high Gm pentodes with CFB. Not to let the cat completely out of the bag yet, but using 15% CFB effectively turns my output tube into the following specs: Gm = 23mA/V, Rp = 285 ohms, and Mu = 6.56. Needless to say, it plays music that makes going back to low Gm triodes impossible.
