Thanks for the info , after reading the vintage cassette site I thought the 8 was supposed to be more like the 9. They still have the 7 in production but dropped the 8 & 9? Either way I have an 8 coming my way from e-bay. I read somewhere that the 8&9 are the same as the TC-WR801ES and the TC-WR901ES. I probably should have gone for the 901. There are a couple of them on e-bay right now. I'm sure my 8 will be much better than my TC 235 that came with my rack system in 1986. Never had a problem with it either, still works fine.
