I know exactly where Meyer Sound is located and it is not a great distance from where I live in Berkeley.

I do not know John and Helen Meyer personally, however. Last year in November or early December, Meyer Sound Labs held a little AES event where they screened a neat video about the life of the late Jack Mullen of Ampex fame.

They also were very kind and offered excellent refreshments!

The relatively new screening room at Meyer Sound is very impressive.

I have been to the screening rooms now at Skywalker Sound (The "Stag Theater"), the one at Dolby, Pixar and a few years ago before they closed down operations at 10th and Parker in Berkeley, at the original Fantasy Studios room.

Each one of these facilitis is amazing, but the modest but well engineered one at Meyer is quite impressive, comparatively.

Incidentally, the sound system at Skywalker's "Stag Theatre" has been duplicated at Pixar, since they share media a lot of the time and had to sort of standardize matters.
