idler mechanism problems

what could solve this problem with a pioneer ct-f1250 deck:

I took of the front on this deck saw the idler between the rollers, tried rew and for but the idler mechanism doesnt change side as it´s supposed to. so is the problem only the tire on the idler mechanism? or the little thing hooked on the idler mechanism holding it on place. what you think of this=?

it plays and forwards tape and even rewinds if I change side by hand of the idler .., this is so frustrating I try and try and try but
