Can anyone explain technically what happens when you record onto chrome cassettes with a normal type 1 bias? I did this when I was in college when doing street interviews with a portable cassette recording. I know doing this boosts the high end, but by how much and how does it effect the rest of the frequency range? How do other areas such as signal to noise, etc get effected? And what is the reason most people don't do this?
