Bob:
I own a STUDER A710 which is the same as the REVOX B710MKII with XLR connectors. I do not know about the B215 or A720, but one major problem of the A710/B710 is the short life of the spinning motors of the transport. The mechanical design of the transport system requires the motors to be placed far back from the front and this create a lot of stress on the drafts of the motor. After quite sometimes, the motor will wear out and when that happens, FF and REW will stop at close to the end/beginning of the tape. The only solution is to replace those two spinning motors. Each of the two costs $200 a piece plus labor cost. I was told a pair of new motors will last around 10 years. So almost any A710/B710 in the market will be older than 10 years by now. So beware when looking for this model. Other than this, they are almost indestructable. The parts are still widely available from REVOX/STUDER factory in Germany for these models. I replaced mine because I want to keep my A710.

Hope this help.

Regards,
Mike
