I see that the OP is no longer registered here. However for the benefit of other readers I found some links to recording tape for sale online. See below.There still are sources for magnetic recording tapes. Cassettes and reel tape in various widths. 5yrs back I bought a 10.5 inch reel of Quantegy 499 (2500')for $29.99 at 'Musicians Friend' online. I searched that store today and did not find any tape at all. However the above links show stock for sale.
Then you could do like I did to gather the above links; search google with the key words; recording tape. Links come up when you do.
