Akai GXC 570D

Reel to reel, cassette and other analogue tape formats.

I have picked up this Akai GXC 570D deck at a very reasonable price, it looks very clean, the only issue is the dolby indicator lamp is out.
I am writing to find out what kind of a deck this is, where does it stand in terms of compatibility with Nakamichi, and Revox, Tandberg etc?
In addition, it has tape settings for Chrome(type II), Low Noise(type I) and Ferro_Chrome(type III?). So what would be appropriate setting for a metal cassette?
