Congratulations! Otari still builds the latest version of the MX5050, to order (that's around 8-10 decks a year). There's a Yahoo reel-to-reel site worth joining. Search eBay on "Otari" and many pages of parts and other stuff will turn up.
Does your Otari have 3 heads or 4? The 4-head version normally includes a 4-track playback head, although for recording you're limited to 2 tracks. As you've already found, manuals are readily available.
What's the nature of the capstan/pinch roller issue?
