Spent most of the afternoon playing a bunch of tapes I acquired years ago; some pre-recorded, some home recorded by others. The deck is sounding pretty good except for this one problem. The right channel has a hiss like a tape hiss but it isn't. It is there even with no tape playing. The more you turn the output control up the louder it gets, but only in the right channel. The left channel is dead quiet.
I don't think it is a dirty pot because there is no scrathing and the hiss is very steady and increases evenly as you turn up the ouput. I am guessing it must be in the amplifier section, but I would really appreciate any help you folks can give. You have done great so far, and I am really looking forward to getting this baby all plused up and permanently in my system.
