Grant, I have KOB on an SACD and in several vinyl versions, the most "audiophile" of which is the two-disk package by Classic, which has one 45 rpm side and both the original and time-corrected versions of side 1.
I've done three-way comparisons (LP/SACD/R2R) with friends present, cued up and gain-equalized to the extent possible. The R2R tape always won handily. I've made a number of system changes since last doing this, so maybe a repeat is in order. But the last time I did it my Otari hadn't yet been modded to allow direct tapehead outputs to a tubed tapehead preamp, so I doubt that the outcome would be different.
