This has been an American Masters series broadcast the last couple of weeks on PBS. Aside from being a fascinating trip through the world of American popular music, the series is chock-full of tape machines and discussion of the medium. On the last show, Michael talked about the need to bake tapes in order to play them once or twice - something we know, but it's so neat to see/hear this on mainstream tv.
