Just how hard is it to build the Bottlehead tape preamp?

All I want to know. I'm a newbie. Want a tape preamp. Well, I don't know if I want one so much as I NEED one. True. Hate it but true. Something wanting without one. Sound shrill, actually evil sounding. For once I am motivated to build a kit because I NEED to. What a drag. How hard is it for a guy all thumbs who is motivated? I have friends who will help me if I become a conductor. You know, one hand in the socket, t'other one in my pants. Say, tell, share.
