It is actually a known problem with the switch contacts on the BII to do this. I have taken the switches apart and cleaned the contacts but they are very tedious to put back together. I have also had good luck by removing the switch pcb and spraying cleaner inside of the switch for a fix once. This could possibly be done without removing the pcb but will be tight to inject in the right spot.

Caution should be taken when removing the buttons. They are hot glued on and must be removed by prying straight out or the switch shaft may bend and will be a pain getting it back straight and funtioning.
