Ok..so i acquired this used machine from ebay, I spent a lot of time adjusting the front bias. I think i understand it now, I am able to make the two test tones line up almost the same, plus the L and R levels so they record more or less at the same level. On a test tape of Maxell XL-II this hovers at around -3db.
my problem is that I could not get the meters to reach 0db while adjusting bias. It appears I have to ajust way past clockwise on the record level screws.
So tape playing appears low in the meters but input level appears correct.
Any ideas why the discrepancy on the 0db?
