I get your drift, though.

Perusing eBay a few days ago for a new wireless mic for my PA rig, I also saw someone trying to sell an older Gemini VHF wireless receiver, untested, without the mic, for $250, plus $50 shipping. It was a decent enough wireless, but this particular model sold for around a hundred, WITH the mic, when it was new.

I know, because it was the same model as the one I was replacing.
