Hi Balaton,

The XLII - 110 - try some and see would be my advice. I have some of these slightly longer tapes and they have proved fine, but not the Maxell XLII - I have some higher-end Goldstar 100 type IIs from the late eighties and they are excellent, quite honestly. However, if you feel more comfortable with 90s, then try American Digital in Connecticut - I got a case of 100 from them and am very pleased. The XLII-110 were also made in the UK in the "Fire" series - they too have no black marks against them.
