madness, really. I mean I can see someone buying into it for the first time and being taken. But please people, do the research! I think the Nak site on ebay is one of the worst offenders and has been for yrs.
My guess is that most buyers who are 'taken', just return the favor with more lies and peddle the unit again. I say this because it seems to be a perpetual thing there on ebay and therefore feeds on itself. I was the victim of an RX-505 that someone had bought on ebay, tried to fix (poorly) and then resold as "working perfectly!". The unit was completely frozen and hadn't worked for yrs. Yes, the price was right and I took the plunge. So far, the deck has cost about $500 total. That's a reasonable price for a flawlessly working RX-505, but certainly no 'deal' and in hindsight, the aggravation was not worth it.
That guy with the Dragon you mentioned (great example, BTW!), is lying through his teeth-you can't "test" the decks functions with a frozen transport. If the deck went for $100, it might be worth it for somebody, but only if it was all there and cosmetically perfect. To buy cosmetic parts for example, usually requires another donor deck. I have two donor decks, bought just to rob electronics.;-)
