I'm sure you would get complaints no matter where you decide to have an event because I have found that the primary pre-requisite for being an audiophile is never to be satisfied. The second pre-requisite is to have an abiding urge to impress other people with how exotic your tastes are or what one last bought and to hear one pontificate about it's virtues. The third is always to argue and doubt no matter what; one's tastes alone are omnipotnet. I don't like to be around such people. I built most of my equipment from scratch. I didn't build it to show off but rather to listen to. I have a life time supply of the tubes I use. I don't need Doc Bottlehead or anyone trying to sell me anything. I'm satisfied. I've lived with the same components for 30 years. I thought my children's education and my retirement was more important than my hobby.
But I would think that Kansas City, being in the center of the USA, the plane tickets would be cheaper and the airport there is easy to navigate. Just my thoughts. Ray Hughes
