I wrote to one of these sellers and suggested he could pick up a cassette from a thrift store for 50 cents so he could confirm it worked. I even offered to pay the 50 cents, I never heard back from him.
The only way to buy equipment on eBay is if it is guaranteed to work and they offer a money back guarantee. If not they are selling either a Nak that will need lots of repairs or Nak boat anchor.
In the case of Craigslist only buy local and test it yourself as Craigslist does not have a feedback system.
