JC, that's great that you enjoy it - the studio version with Shirley Bassey done for the movie with, as far as I remember, the John Barry orchestra was well done from an engineering point of view. She also did Diamonds Are Forever a few years later, being Connery's last Bond. A truly brilliant performance of Goldfinger though, is the "Shirley Bassey Live at Carnegie Hall" recording (a double LP) - massive scale and sensational sense of acoustic - its the overture to the event and the capacity crowd is enthusiatic to say the least. I wonder if this was ever released on the R2R medium you have there? All the best - Marc
