Aiwa repair

I have an old Aiwa ADF1000 cassette deck that needs help. Machine has low hours, but developed a problem in the transport where the takeup side over tensions the tape, to the point where it ruins the tape by stretching it. The local repair emporium said parts were no longer available (this was in the late 1990s) and so it's been boxed up ever since. How can I go about finding someone who can repair it?
