See if you can get John to explain further. I know what he means but am loathe to try to translate it given my tenuous grasp of some of the issues. As I understand it, since I have XLR inputs on my linestage (Aesthetix Calypso) all I have to worry about is that the pin 3/pin 2 issue affects acoustic polarity, and since there is no consistency in the way discs and tapes present polarity (and since most loudspeakers won't make it audible anyway), and since the Calypso has a polarity switch, it doesn't matter to me. John may correct me here.
