Technical and speculative discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Left channel went out on my receiver today

I plugged my vintage Nikko NR-300 receiver up today and noticed a bright flash from inside the cabinet . It was the fuse blowing . After replacing the blown fuse now the left speaker channel doesn't produce any sound . Only the right channel will play sound . My question , is this worth fixing or should I call it a day and trash it . Anyone care to speculate on what the problem might be ? Comments appreciated . This old receiver sounds better than my new pioneer amp and I hate to see it go .
