Does reducing gain increase input impedance?

I'm using an Airtight preamp with a Viva Solista integrated as an amp only. I can hook the Air Tight up "direct" and by-pass the Viva's input stage (so, I'd be using only the volume pot on the Air Tight). Or, I could just plug it into a line input and use the Viva's gain and selector (as well as the Air Tight's).
If I do the latter, and reduce the gain on the Viva, would the Air Tight, then, be seeing a higher input impedance than if it were to be plugged into the "direct" input?
I ask this because I have determined that the Air Tight would like to see about 100k (surprise, surprise). And I have no idea what the impedances are on the Viva. They refuse to provide specs. Maybe they don't know ;-)
Or, would it, perhaps, be best to just use the Viva as an integrated and put the Air Tight on the shelf, for a while?
Thanks, guys. This impedance matching is driving me crazy!
