Hi ,
A 12AX7 driver stage is a completely different application . What is being discussed is applying diodes between the B+/B- and each individual SS amplifier module between smoothing and local bypass capacitors . Diodes are non-linear and if you place these within the signal path , which you inevitably do with a chipamp that mainly runs in class B , you will most certainly affect the dynamics of the amp . Fuses are bad enough so what do you think a diode going to do with an SS amp on the end of it ? Have you actually tried removing the fuses from your SS amps and replacing them with diodes yet ? If you do I am absolutely certain that you will NOT prefer the sound . If it sounds better and you can provide an explanation as to why it does then I'll happily eat my words . Your callcheers
