Hi.Explain to us how technically a HV stopper diode can affect an amp, SS or tube regardless, its "dynamics". Technical talks please, no try & hear business.
Check out the schematic of ACE 8W power amp using EL-84SE, using a
stopper diode to power its 12AX7 driver stage. (ww.chimeralabs.com)Read up the 28-page paper on:
"A study for the Implementation of Super Triode Connection
Amplifiers" & learn how to apply stopper diodes in HV power suppy. Here an excerpt from the paper for using stopper diodes in PP amplifiers:
"When a stopper diode (SD) is used with a centre-tapped O/O transformer for a PP amp, inserted between the centre-tap & the B+ power supply, the sound of the low frequency music content "stiffens". The assumed principle of operation is that the SD
pushes back or shuts off unbalanced signal power which appears on the centre tap of the O/P transformer."Hence I am using stopper diodes in my ST-70 PP power stage. What loss of dynamics???
