The primary difference between Tech Square and PropHead is that this venue is NOT for those that require scientific proof or explanation for any or every phenomenon that one might experience.Why can't that simply be done in the other regular forums? Unless you're going to prohibit any sort of technical discussion in the other forums, I don't see that this accomplishes anything but to further water things down.
Just leave the R-rated soft-core tech to the regular forums and set up one XXX hard-core tech forum.
