Amplifier Problem Diagnosis

Howdy,

I have an old Spectro Acoustics amp with a problem. One of the channels has low volume static noise present. The other side is dead quiet. Both channels play music fine. The low noise side gets louder when there is not a cable connected to the inputs. The low noise does not amplify with the raising or lowering of the music, it stays constant.

I have looked at grounding issues, cleaned and inspected the interior for any obvious issues. I can't come up with anything except maybe a noisy component, like a resistor. Any ideas? How can I test for a noisy component?

Thanks,
-JC
