of why I won't buy anything for more than $50 on ebay. To me, the real problem with your transaction was not that the seller backed out -- maybe he had a legitimate reason, maybe not -- but that you had to fight to get your money back. He should have refunded it immediately without requiring any contact or request from you.
I suggest you stick to under $50 transactions to avoid any major problems.
