Likely Marantz scam on CL

I got interested in a Marantz SM-1000 after reading a story about Saul Marantz and Googled the amp to see what it was selling for. I quickly found it was more than I wanted to spend, but then did a CL-specific search and found one in California for $1600, or less than half the going rate. I emailed the seller and got an almost immediate response, which is strange enough, but I still had time to do some more Googling and found references to the exact same ad having been posted in 2006 and 2008. So I replied, expressing interest, but I casually asked about the other ads. Of course I never got a response. Seems like kind of an odd scam, but I feel it definitely is a scam.
