New ebay scam

68.42.114.118

Yesterday, 6 hours after being one of the losing bidders on a pair of JBL C50 speakers, I received a second chance email that said it was sent from the seller through ebay because the top bidder had passed and I could buy it at my submitted bid (over $2K). It had working links to ebay, all the logos, etc. The thing that made me suspicious was that the email address was different from the original, which I only noticed because I had sent the seller a question earlier. I contacted the seller and he confirmed that he had not sent it and that it was no doubt a scam. I was tempted to play with the sender and respond, insisting on paying at the time of pick up, but there was really no point, so I reported it to ebay and deleted it.

So look out, ebay bidders. This was really well done.
