I occasionally do some work with data security. This is an obvious scam.

What you folks saying give him a chance are missing is this: The (check, "cheque" draft, money order or whatever payment instrument is mentioned *will* indeed arrive, and you can deposit it in your bank, and your bank might even clear it.

Until it ultimately bounces like a ping pong ball, because it is a forgery.
