which would have required you to make an appearance at a hearing; an appeal would ( I should imagine ) bump your case up to a regular Court which would not require you to appear, your lawyer could do that for you
You would also be able to claim all your costs, as well as get a better deal, nect time 'round
If it was me; that's what I'd do; you have the right to appeal and the current ruling is letting this guy off the hook way too lightly. If you work 70 hours a week, you are truly earning your money and that doesn't deserve to be in a scammers pocket

Doing nothing sends this guy a message that his scam was too easy; the law was on his side, and he'll do this again to someone else
