Bought an amp from him on eBay.
Shipped it to me poorly packed and it arrived damaged. I notified him within MINUTES of the package arriving that the packing was totally inappropriate and shoddy and that the amp had been damaged in a way that would likely require the full $300 of insurance to repair. He tells me to take it in for a claim, so I transport the whole thing back and forth to the post office etc. (I actually had to take it there twice because the inspector lady wasn't there the first time.) She takes one look at it and tells me that her report will recommend that the claim be denied because the packing was poor. I told her that I needed to follow through on the claim anyways for the purposes of getting my money back.
I then filed a paypal claim to preserve my rights no matter WHAT the post office did.
Long story short....Post Office denied the claim based on poor packing and because of that paypal GRANTED my claim and told me to ship the amp back to him. I took a while to pick the amp back up at the post office and then carefully rebox-repack for the return trip.
Paypal then REFUSES to pay the claim because I didn't get a SIGNATURE confirmation of the delivery. I had DELIVERY CONFIRMATION to his PO box (which is also his official Paypal e-Mail address), but no SIGNATURE. Paypal close the claim and that's the end of that.
So this guy has my initial payment, the amplifier, AND I am out the additional payment that I made (by check) because the amp arrived postage due AND then return shipping!
So I e-mail him that I would like him to refund my money anyways because the entire issue was that he shipped me a broken amplifier that would have cost more than the entire purchase price to repair.
His response: (10 days later) that the amp was badly damaged in return shipping and that MAYBE he would be able to salvage the transformers and get $100 or so from them. that was it! No proof, no pictures, no nothing. And he never contacted me when it arrived, I would point out, only when I asked him to do the right thing and refund my money. Paypal granted my claim and then didn't pay off on a severe technicality, and he is just taking that to the bank!
My response to this, was that this was incredible! (without even referencing the fact that he hadn't bothered to contact me about receiving a damaged amp etc. which was PURE BS. BECAUSE this was a damage issue, we WILDLY overpacked the amp on the way back so as to not have any further issues.)
I had just been through this entire ordeal shlepping this amp around, filling out forms, responding to e-mails and requests for more information etc... I then paid for the return shipping and now HE IS COMPLAINING THAT HE RECEIVED A DAMAGED AMP! I told him that he should take the money that was owed to me for the postage due payment and ship the entire thing back to me and that he was not entitled to ANYTHING from that amplifier. Not one shred of recoverable value.
Guess what..... now over a week or later.
No response. Nothing. Keeps the amp, keeps the money and goes on with his life.
I have put WAYYYYYY too much time into this. But I'm going to post this EVERYWHERE I can find on the web to warn anyone who might think of doing business with him. Don't. He won't stand behind anything.

Sorry it had to go down that way. He should have sent me a full refund the moment that the post office denied the claim. It was HIS fault that it was damaged, but I wound up losing EVERYTHING!
