Thanks, You ( and most others ) still assume I use half a 12AX7, as I did in the past. FYI, this can be done, and to a stellar effect, but the amp has to be engineered for the whimpy drive, in many areas. Conventionally trained engineers haven't the imagination to do this, and IT has to be perfect. Dennis Fraker has successfully done this, since 1989. No SET amp I know of, or YOU have ever heard, beats Dennis' implementations, or even comes close. Believe me !! He knows how to get what he wants, better than anyone I have seen or know of. Hands down.Good news, I changed this in November 2016. Just as you have kindly suggested I do. Absolutely love the result. Thanks,
