Hi,
I have a SV811-10 SE experimental amp which I would like to run into class A2. The amp was inspired by an article in March 2004 Audioexpress magazine (schematic attached).
I recently got hold of some russian 6J52P(6Ж52П) pentodes which are said to be almost identical to the D3A tube. Since they have very high S I was thinking of running those as cathode followers to drive the grids of SV811-10s into Class A2. I just want to get rid of those 4KN8 which sound terrible and use something else there so my questions are:
1/ How to run them for lower output resistance - in triode or pentode mode?
2/ Can I just replace directly the 4KN8 followers or I'll need to do some voltage adjustments considering I intend to use 6n23p or 6n1p in front?
