Yes, all three tubes are quite different. An amplifier optimized for a 300B is most likely going to have too much voltage available for a 45. Amplifiers that take both 45's and 2A3's are common, though you need to run the 2A3 no so "by the book" to leave the available voltage/current/output transformer suitable to a 45.
If a 45 amp is what you're looking for, then that's what you should buy.
