If the grid is not bias referenced (ie; some connection back to the cathode. Normally done with a resistor or grid choke to ground so the cathode resistor can provide bias for the tube or in the case of a direct coupled circuit the reference is back through the previous stage), the tube cannot work properly if at all.Does anyone have any insight as to what's going on here?
The amplifier is reported as working and "sounds decent".
