THe only thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger on the SE OTL from Transcendent is that I know it needs a lot of negative feedback to really work with a normal speaker. I am sure that this has undesirable consequences on the tonal qualities of the amp. Into a headphone you don't need the feedback because the impedance of the headphones is much higher.

However, a SET with a mediocre output transformer has plenty of sonic problems as well. I don't know if the Bottlehead has a good output transformer or not. They don't really discuss it on their website.
